About Children

Your child is your most precious gift. You would do anything for them. If you’ve reached out it’s because they are struggling. You’re worried and not sure how to help them. Things seem to be getting worse and it hurts you to see them this way. You ask yourself where your sweet, innocent, or carefree child went?

Whether your child is struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, behavioral problems, bullying, social skills, managing emotions, tantrums or defiance there is hope! I can help kids gain effective tools to get them back on track.

My goal in working with children is to help them gain the skills they need to cope with stressors in life, have meaningful and healthy relationships, increase self- esteem, manage painful feelings, regulate emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, communicate effectively, and learn to express their needs.

The work in therapy is to teach children the skills they are lacking and coach parents on how to support their growth and development. I approach treatment in a collaborative, goal-directed way. Therapy is a team effort between children, their parents, and myself, because that is how growth is maintained.

This process is a journey and we’re a team!

Testimonials

  • I have been seeing Lisa off and on since I was around 8 years old and I am now almost 21. As I have grown, she has helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. The advice and guidance I’ve gotten from her is valuable and I will use it for the rest of my life.

  • I began seeing Lisa when I was 12 years old. I was filled with distrust and bitterness after going through my parents’ separation and their addictions. Lisa was patient and gentle, yet persistent. Which was just what I needed; for someone to unconditionally care. I went on the see Lisa through my teen years until I was 17. She was a cornerstone in that time for me. I know she genuinely cared about my well-being and helped me to see things from a different light rather than through the familial dysfunctions I was raised in. She helped me to believe in myself, and the possibility to break cyclical trauma. I’m forever grateful to have spent the time with her and for all the positive change she has aided in my life.
