About Women

As women, we often find ourselves putting everyone else’s needs above our own. We make attempts to do too many things all at once. We find we can do it all, but it’s exhausting. Whether you’re in college, trying to balance marriage, children, a career, friendships, struggle with aging, health issues, etc..…finding balance is tough. Not to mention finding time for yourself! Add in the high standards our society has set for women, it makes sense that you may be feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed. We think that doing it all would make us feel empowered, but the end result is often feeling frustrated and fatigued.

In my private practice, I work with women to help them learn to manage distressing emotions like fear, panic, worry, depression, low self- esteem, guilt, shame and others that impact their daily lives. Stress and challenges are normal parts of life, but depression, anxiety, and perfectionism do not have to coexist. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help women understand the relationship between thoughts, moods, physical symptoms, and behaviors.

You will be taught skills to manage distress rather than to avoid it. We will work together to help change the way you view yourself and challenge your long- standing beliefs and assumptions that may be interfering with your ability to accept yourself or be happy with who you are right now. We will also work to help you find balance in your life.

I want to help you take charge of your life and create the positive and healthy changes you’re looking for!

Testimonials

  • I was leary of therapists. Lisa created an environment that made me feel safe to be vulnerable with my brokenness. She helped me work on my issues by setting goals and helping me be accountable to complete those goals. She has since helped me be the best version of myself. When asked about her I often say she saved my life. I am so grateful for her.

  • Lisa Jellison has been very important in my life. As my counselor she’s been a best friend, someone to whom I shared my deepest thoughts. I have always felt that I could count on her to understand, to comfort me, and to help me grow. What’s more, she has been my main support in the completion of my book, for which I am especially grateful.

  • I was very reluctant to reach out to a therapist. Needing to go to counseling meant something was wrong with me. I was struggling with intrusive and fearful thoughts. I had thoughts of terrible things happening to my children and if I voiced these thoughts out loud, someone might think I was crazy. Seeing Lisa for the first time alleviated these fears; she assured me that I was not crazy and she could help me with the unwanted thoughts. I am happy to say, I do not struggle with worry or fear any longer. Therapy was a wonderful experience and one that I would recommend to any woman. Thank you Lisa Jellison!

  • Lisa has been instrumental in helping me face life's challenges and personal trauma. Instead of being hard on myself wondering "what's wrong with me?" and consumed by hopelessness, Lisa has given me the tools to live life joyfully and confront challenges in a positive way. Is life perfect? No. Is it easy? No. Without Lisa's experience, skills and compassion I'm not sure I would be here today. I am truly LIVING my best life with her insights and expertise. I conquered Mental Health : Conqueror: A brave, strong, or fierce person

  • Forty years of intermittent counseling has provided levels of healing of emotions, memories, as well as dealing with life issues, concerns, loss of loved ones and broken relationships. I was always guarded about what I revealed, trying to maintain control of deep heartbroken pain of my life’s journey. Lisa Jellison came into my life at a pivotal point in my life. She helped me break down those guarded walls of self-protection. Lisa has touched my life in so many ways…. friendship, care and concern for my mental, physical and spiritual welfare. Lisa, I believe, is blessed with compassion, empathy, the ability to listen, discern and direct new ways of approaching the past and redirect reaction to current situations. I will be forever grateful for having Lisa in my life!!!
